Weather wise the day hadn't started well with low cloud predominating. I decided to wander and assess some options, stopping at a well known view point above Loch Maree. The moist air had dampened everything leaving colours saturated. The russet and gold colours of autumn really shone and I was keen to create something with these colours. I settled on this aspect but had to climb a fair bit as I was keen to ensure that there was adequate separation between the roof of the house and the body of the loch. The colour pallette reminds me of a Dutch 17th century landscape, very rich and deep, I like the outcome.
